View Full Version : Walnut burl (NOT itsy bitsy!)

Ahhhhh, now this feels better.:D
15 1/2" diameter by 3" deep Walnut burl shallow bowl (Malnut for Jim and Mark ;):p ). Wall thickness around 3/16". This burl was very dry, lots of dust. Finished with a few coats of Watco then buffed.

Love all the inclusions and blond spots.
Nice a thin too, great looking piece as always!:rolleyes:

That's a good effort, Travis. Maybe you didn't notice, but it's all full of holes...:confused:............................... :D ;)

Very, Very nice Travis.!!!!! I really like the Walnut Burl look, but seems to me that it sure would be a tuffy to turn.

Very cool travis, put a few apples in there and on a table will look VERY nice.

Great looking bowl there. Did you have trouble with little pieces of lint in it after buffing? I did a very small box and when I buffed it, it had tons of lint in it. When you turn a piece that has holes like that, do you need to turn it fast? RPMwise. I'm a little afraid of those things with holes or uneven edges.

Nice wood ,and the form fits nicely.nothin worse than ruinning a beautiful peice of wood with to many distractions.
