How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 to move it to the Lighting section
2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section
7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 to flame the spell checkers
3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
13 to say "do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"
1 to hijack the thread and ask how to change the horn
1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

Ya know....I can easily identify almost every single one of those. Happens here on a regular basis. Makes life enjoyable to see how the pattern repeats itsself. :D

You forgot these:
7 Neanders who insist that candles be used instead
8 Turners with instructions on how to turn candle holders for the Neanders
3 Picture police to demand pictures of said light bulb being changed
8 Helpful souls with information on who currently has the best prices on light bulbs (or candles)

I'm sure there are others I've left out.

How about the 20 who comment on how good it will look when the bulb is finally changed.

And what about the guy who professes to know nothing about light bulbs, lamps, or lightbulbs, but wants to welcome the original poster to the forum.

Andy, your a card:) And Steve I can't think of anywhere else on the WWW that all of the above would be taken in so positive a way!!!

I never saw a light bulb total there. :) Seriously though this could be almost any forum on the WWW.

Seriously though this could be almost any forum on the WWW. (http://www.)

Yep, I found it on another forum I frequent and thought it was too funny not to share it with everyone here.

Then there's:

37 to post gloat threads when UPS delivers their new light bulbs and they get them installed in the shop

14 to rant about how the BORG has light bulbs, but nobody who works there can tell you what aisle they're on, and when you DO find them, the nearby pimple-faced kid in the orange vest can't tell you the difference between a 60-watt and 100-watt light bulb

4 to share war stories of buying cheap Chinese knock-off light bulbs on eBay, and comparing them to Harbor Freight light bulbs

16 to expound on how Sears, who used to make good light bulbs, then started making crummy ones, is now back to making good ones again

15 to say that no matter what, they're never buying another Sears light bulb again

5 to mention light bulb accidents they've had in the past, including 1 who posts pics of burned fingers as a service and warning to those who get lax about following reasonable light bulb changing safety guidelines

46 to get into a heated debate over the merits of the EZ-Bulb (and the Dead Light Concept) vs. the FesBulb system

1 to post an informative series about the EuroComboLight, which, although it takes up a lot of space, can illuminate a room much more safely and efficiently than the old-style American light bulbs

3 to discuss how the old light bulbs, with their hand-blown glass globes and charred bamboo filaments are much better than modern light bulbs, but you've gotta know what to look for when buying "old light"

Too funny. Part of the attraction of this site is the ability to take a humorus look at...ourselves! :D

Keep 'em coming, Merry Christmas, tom

You forgot the 3 who would inform you that you have been conned, the light bulbs are no good, and if you send the bulbs to them, they will take care of them for you.
