I had this PC 690 fix base router for a few years and I had this Black and Decker plunge router for over 10 yrs. Well my plunge router took a smoke break and didn't recover so I decided to look at some porter cable plunge routers. Now I do have a PC 892 I bought thats fix base that I bought to replace my 690 since I wanted something that had a little more HP and a speed control to put in my router table.
So I got the plunge base to make my 690 a plunge router. Save me a 100 bucks or more since I didn't need to buy a new plunge router.
