My neighbor has one in his garage sale for 40 bucks. 14" x 40". Is it a complete waste of 40 bucks? Haven't had a lathe for 45 years - might be fun to try it again.

General - spelling has always been a hit and miss thing with me.

Couldn't pass it up. Even came with some cheap tools.

Those look like cheap tools, but otherwise congratulations. Now you need a grinder and jig(s) and start playing. All kinds of free wood can be found - there's always a tree being cut down somewhere.
