I bought it thinking it was a round over tool but it isn't. Clueless as to what the name of it is or what it was made to do.
It has the Stanley name on it and patent pending but no model or tool number. I don't think it uses safety razors because the screw is slightly larger
than the slot in the razor. It is made of a thick, stiff metal and it has two holes in it on either end. Throwing it out to collective to see if anyone recognizes it.
I couldn't find it in any of my Stanley catalogues412222.

Looks like a razor blade type scraper.

Could it be used for chamfering? Looks like the recess behind the razor blade could be a right angle.

One of my initial thoughts on it but it ain't so. First off the razor in there isn't the one or the 'thing' that is supposed to be in there. Didn't work as a scraper no matter how I tried it.

We are both thinking along the same lines with this. Just as the scraping action failed miserably, so did trying to make a chamfer then a bead. It is driving me bonkers trying to figure
out what it is used for. I keep it out on my bench hoping inspiration hits me.

Ralph maybe if you used another thinker blade, maybe from a spokeshave and then see what it can do.

This seems to be what you have. I found the pic on-line, but couldn't find any additional information in a quick search. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I don't think the razor blade is part of the intended use.

Huh! So, it looks like that little square piece is actually the blade for the sharpener?

I don't think it is a scraper Mel. I tried to get it to work as one and got nowhere trying that.

Gary thanx a bunch for finding what this thing is. The question that remains is what did the person put the razor blade in this for?

Could it be a safe handle for cutting string or cord?

I think the razor blade is an add on for some mystery reason from the previous owner.
