Hi all, can anyone please tell me the minimum width of tail board so that I can use the Leigh dovetail jig D4 Pro to do a blind dovetail joint with the 14 degree bit. The recommended depth of cut for this bit, according to the User Manual , is 11mm.
I would like to do something like the attached layout. I am hoping to use a 35mm wide board, if physically possible with this jig, but suspect it is too small

I would suggest making a test cut in some wider scrap pieces and measuring the distance between tails. That should give you the minimum width. This also gives you a sample so you can get your depth setting correct for joint tightness.

The minimum spacing from center to center is 1". So a half pin, one tail, and another half pin would be 1".
