Howdy all.
I have been running a 30w q switched RF laser for the last year. Learned a ton and did a lot of deep engraving. Most of my work is on guns and I need to go deeper faster. I spoke to RayFine about my needs and they set me up with a 100w JPT adjustable wavelength. It took 4 months due to laser upgrades and then getting screwed over by DHL and customs. I got the laser setup yesterday and then realized I have no idea where to start. I tried using the settings from my 30w. I tried playing with some coins, doing cut outs on them. After about 15 seconds the coin will be glowing red. It is able to cut a shape out of a penny in about 20 seconds. But the heat created is no bueno! What I am looking for is what does the pulse length actually do in laymans terms.
