Is it a bargain at $495?

Looks like it uses Carter wheels. I would say it is, but I know absolutely nothing about them to the point that I didn't even know there was such a thing.

I’ve looked at this monster in person, but I can’t find a legible model number, so I’m hoping someone here might have a clue.

Also, the table on this thing is 55X36 inches and the total height is about 11 feet. So it would take up a lot of real estate

There isn't a manufacturer called Milwaukee that makes bandsaws that is registered on vintagemachinery.org. Guessing Milwaukee machine company is a distributor not a manufacturer.

I’d post it over on OWWM and see what they say. There are a lot of folks knowledgeable about big bandsaws there.

That is a HUGE table for a 22” saw, and very tall at 11’. How much resaw does it have?

Rick, seeing that you are in Virginia, if you don't want it, tell me where it is, and I'll go get it.

Matt

This was on a Facebook “for sale” post. Can’t quite figure out how to get the info to you but here is a try

I don’t have a phone number for the seller. I’ve just communicated via messenger

Geez, that thing looks HUGE!

I bet it's more than 22", and the seller just doesn't know. After all, he thinks it's a "Ban saw."

Probably 22" throat, and 24" wheels. I have plenty of height, but the 24" I have is limited in resaw capacity.

I put the contact info on a previous post Tom.

interesting fence. any reason to think it is for wood not metal? The chip drawer and lack of miter slot makes me think metal only I see no speed adjustment.

I was thinking metal too. I've been wanting a vertical metal cutting bandsaw. I only have a horizontal one that's really more like a miter saw is for wood.

Looks like a Northfield bandsaw.

Ah ha, metal cutting bandsaw would make sense.

It has a rolling right table.
Those may be DoAll wheels.
The picture from the back was interesting.

Looks handy for resawing logs, and that tensioning system looks mighty.
Wheels look larger than 24" to me.
$495you say... I wonder what it weighs
Can you get it home?, presuming you have a place for it

Is it worth $495? Well, let's put that in perspective.

Yes, I can get it home, and have a place for it. I thought the back view was "interesting" too. My 24" came from Johnny's shop.

Can’t tell for sure, but that is definitely worth the $495. Somebody buy it and give us the rest of the information.

He should take you up on that. Great little town. We used to stop at Wright’s Dairy Rite a lot - get a milkshake for me!

A little more info about the saw

Okay, since Postal Zones started in 1943 and were replace by ZIP Codes in 1963--we have a rough idea of the dating of that label. Might really help--and i'm curious!!

From what I’ve learned this saw was in use in a furniture factory at its current location from 1940 to the late 50’s
