works wonderful on our night-crawler infested lawns. Just push the handle, it goes. Push harder, it goes faster. If you're making turns there's a stationary handle in front of the moving handle to grab so you can make the mower go just by squeezing your wrist a bit. If it's exercise you want, just squeeze the handle in all the way and you'll have to jog to keep up -- and the mower actually mows decent going that fast!

I saw one of those at Lowes the other day. The astroturf in the display was short, so they apparently work pretty well.
