I ran across this 2 hour "raw" 4k video of how Montreal handles their snow averaging 84" per year. So many huge snowblowers and trucks and mountains of snow at the disposal facilities, including off the edge of an old quarry. Quite mesmerizing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQujcjTZEG8

Good use of a quarry pit. Also surprised at how conscientious the snow blower driver is to avoid burying cleared sidewalks.

Our friends live in Truckee, California. This season about 550". I will have to ask where the snow gets dumped

Rochester gets over 100" a year and its not a big deal; it usually melts almost a fast as it falls. Some years I only get to XC once or twice.

I saw a video of a snowblower cleaning 6' of snow off the tracks in the Sierra Nevada; now that was exciting.

Truckee Califorina some pictures of snowfall. In the high country the snow does not melt until spring. It does compact down. There are a few small glacier fields in California that do not melt.
