I'm in the planning stages (2 months out) to build a residential entry door; a single panel of common 6'8" x 36" x 1-3/4" dimensions. I would like to use a multipoint lockset to maintain a good seal on the lock side stile regardless of seasonal RH changes. Added security is a bonus but not my primary motivation. I've been looking at units with 3 and 5 locking points and have pretty much decided not to use shoot bolts unless someone convinces me otherwise. I'm undecided on whether I should use a brand that engages the locking points by lifting the handle or the type where you turn the lock knob/key twice. Either is probably fine. I'm also undecided if I should use a Euro lock cylinder or US.
With that as background, I'm looking for advise, recommendations, cautions, any insights you care to share. Thanks in advance.
