Are you holding the large bit in a collet? At first I thought it was a taper shank bit.

Your English seems great to me. My German, on the other hand, is nothing. I travel often to Italy and still understand very little. I studied Spanish for three years para ahora no yo comprende nada.

American English is a pain since it has so many inconsistencies - even many who spent their lives here often have trouble.

We had a young friend from northern Italy stay with us last summer, in part to work on her English. It was fun to watch DVDs with her and stop them often to repeat phrases that were spoken too fast to grasp and to explain the nuance of expression and humor!

Another girl is headed this way this summer for a similar experience. Although she grew up in Merano/Meran where spoken German is common, she spent last year in Germany for school and to improve her understanding of German. Her friend did the same in Moscow for her Russian.

These girls are amazing with - the second one has reasonable command of 7 languages. I feel so illiterate!

I grew up in Pennsylvania but went to Berea College in Kentucky. I immediately experienced a Deep South dialect so incomprehensible from a guy from further south I had to ask him to repeat twice, and slowly. After living in Tennessee for over 50 years I'm beginning to get the hang of it.

I was born and raised in nw Iowa. A few years ago I talked on the phone to a lady in West Virginia. I could kind of understand her but when she tried to give me her husbands phone number I absolutely could not make out what she was saying. Fortunately about that time the husband walked in the house so I was able to speak to him and eventually was able to get the point across to him. There are many regional dialects of English it seems. Even people that live in southern Iowa speak much differently than we in northern Iowa.
