Hey everyone.

I have a couple 4 foot lengths of figured bloodwood that I want to make cribbage board out of. The stock is 4/4 and surfaced on all 4 sides.

I would like to glue up pieces face to face but due to slight warping I cant do that as is. Should I flatten these out on my jointer, run them through the planer, or take them back to the lumber store and have them sand the boards flat?

Jointer first on one side, then match the other side with the thickness planer.

When I glue up a blank to make a larger piece to mill down I make is over-sized in each dimension. So, with your material I would joint two faces true and glue those faces together. With the figured material one hope for an insert head. I would then joint one face of the resulting blank true, use it as a reference surface to plane the opposite side parallel. I would then remove material from alternate sides till I had my thickness. Now you can joint one edge perpendicular to the faces, rip to width and crosscut to length.
