Our world is changing. Now a company is making homes with 3D printing technology:

They are small homes for people who have no homes. The hope is to bring the price down to ~$4,000 or less.

It is interesting technology. The Marines have been experimenting with it for a while. They used it to build a barracks, and I think I read they used it to build a bridge as well.

Yesterday I read that a company called Relativity Space plans to 3D-print rockets.
The times are definiitrly a-changin'.

At some point...likely when there is a significant breakthrough in energy production...3D printing using materials that today would be very impractical will revolutionize production of almost anything. Thing "replicator" from Sci-Fi in general. In fact, it will likely be the crux of humanity being able to expand beyond this spinning rock to other places and being able to manufacture "whatever" from locally available raw materials. We are barely touching the potential of additive manufacturing in these very early stages of the technique, but even so, it's really kewel that "the average Joe/Josephine" can with a reasonably small investment get involved in making things in this manner.

I think the thing many forget about 3d printing is it can make parts that can be attched latter to each other. If I 3d printed a house I would make each side flat then glue/bolt the corners together. Much like SIP panels and roof trusses.
Is Gunite 3d printing? how about metal spray welding.
