So I have inherited a Ryobi BTS21 from a friend who upgraded. I've looked around and it's not the greatest table saw out there, but it was free. It's in good shape. I squared everything up and it cuts ok. I've learned the hard way the fence moves and you have to compensate for the sliding miter table being just slightly higher than the rest of the table when making dado cuts. Still, I've done a few things around the house I've wanted to do, but didn't want to invest in a table saw. Generally I would use my miter saw and circular saw with a straight edge when needed. I don't want to drop a lot of money into it, but I want to learn how use a table saw before buying a better one. Are there any upgrades anyone can recommend? Should I make a permanent base for it for example? I don't plan on moving it. Thanks.
