Between 2000 and 2002, I made a couple hundred lathe-turned boxes for a machinist friend who was kicking off a line of aluminum yo-yos (the Dif-e-Yo). I didn't make another yo-yo box for over 16 years. So now I'm back into it, and realizing how much fun I've been missing out on. Making boxes is a blast:

Impressive work Ed! First I have ever heard of a Yo-Yo box. Beautiful woods and I really like how thin you turned the boxes! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Steve. Thin walls are cool, except when the wood moves. Nothing worse than having a lid fit perfectly off the lathe, and then go all whopper-jawed a few days later, and not having enough wood on the box body to correct the problem.
