rehab solar panels?

Have some old solar panels removed from a neighbors roof, would like to use them to heat my wood dryer. The brand is solar gold inc , appear to have a glass cover, problem is one has some sort of plastic absorber, and it has fallen apart inside the collector. Anyone have experience in repairing old solar panels?

I am guessing this is a thermal solar panel, not an electric solar panel. Some of the sites that deal with off grid living might be able to help here.
