Attached is a bookcase I just finished for my daughter. It matches a dresser I built for her to the LOML specifications. No sharp corners and all mahogany.

I am also in the process of finishing a matching nightstand. I will get it stained tonight. Part of specifications were cockbead, a pull out shelf, and inlaid keyhole plates. No locks, I drew the line on that much.

Travis -

Very well done/almost done pieces. She will value those more and more as time passes.

The general design and color look good but the pictures are extremely pixelated for me. I really can't see any detail at all. Was this a clever way to hide some blemish? ;) :D From the rough detail I can make out, they do look to be well made and designed.

Lots of flaws, but I didn't try to hide them. Had trouble getting the jpg up. Camera takes pictures at 1 MB size and then I edited with MS Image software to get it down to 100K. Suggestions on how to do this so that resolution is better would be appreciated.

Travis,

Nice work! Both are great and I like the somewhat "floating top" on the dresser.

On the MS Image, see if you can just "crop" the image to a 4x5" size....this should "hold" the resolution for better viewing.....

Basically, If you can come up with a 4x5 image at 80dpi it should look okay.....You may have to go to a 4x5 at 60dpi....

Lets try this again with cropped and sized pictures hopefully for Brett to continue to be able to give me a hard time.

Roy, thanks for the info on cropping. I am not very technical.

Yes, much better. I can see the grain on the bookcase now. I really like the design of that nightstand. Is that slot below the top a design element or is there going to be a pullout surface put in there?

It is for a pull out shelf.
