Having a flexible task light on a bandsaw is crucial for me. I have a few of these around and I always keep one attached to the bandsaw. The magnet is strong and I end up using it when setting guides / changing blades as well as of course for seeing the cut line. Helps a ton to really see what you're doing.

I presume the big LED was for video purposes only. I too have the LED from LeeValley and find it less than impressive but that might be because of my age, someone younger might think it is a very good light.

I tried one of those small USB lights and was not impressed. But there are a number of others which are brighter.

I mount it by clipping it to a small rectangular magnet I stick on the band saw.

I use one of these for my band saw, but also have one on each (3) drill press and two on my scroll saw. Nice bright white and shadow free light that doesn't get hot, and the price is very reasonable. I remove the spring clamp and made attachment bases for some of the applications, but use the spring clamp on the band saw so I can move it around, but it's usually just attached to the guard covering the returning side of the blade. These lamps have an inline on/off switch and a wall wort type power supply module.

I have a trouble light with a magnetic base that I put an LED bulb in and it works fine, I can stick it to either bandsaw. The only time I really need extra light is seeing pencil marks on ebony, and for that I have a Black Diamond LED headlamp that is very bright on its high setting. The headlamp runs for many hours on 4 AA rechargeable batteries, the only downside it that it's one more thing to attach to my head besides my earmuffs and sometimes a face shield or a respirator. I've never had to wear all four at once, it would be a challenge.

They are inexpensive "sewing" LEDs that have a powerful magnetic base. I also have two on my drill press. I intend to add more to other tools. As I get older, my eyesight gets worse. Additional light helps a bunch.

I want a LOT of light at my bandsaw. I'm having a hard time imagining being impressed by a dinky light.

I mounted three lights at the bandsaw: one from the left, one very bright LED on a long flexible neck positioned high from the left, and a gooseneck Moffatt on the right.

None are in the way and are easily moved. They plug into receptacles wired to turn on with one wall switch.
