I believe I have finally found a worthy replacement for my much-cussed Craftsman RAS: the new Dewalt 718 compound slider. It has a 14" crosscut capacity expandable to 16". Any thoughts or reviews? Good buys anywhere? I haven't found any good discounts off the standard $649, I guess becuase it's a new model.

I have the 708. Mine is an earlier model and the dust pick up is the pits. I have another DeWalt 12" that is not a slider and my perception is that it has more power than the 708. As Tod says, my .02.

I have two of the older 708's, and two 705's.
Nice saws.
