Creeker's Past Week's Accomplishments

Greetings,
I've started working on the daughter's kitchen island top and have drawn their kitchen table in Sketchup to show them the design before I start cutting wood. :)
Been researching CNC Router setups, software application, and etc. I will need additional income when I retire in 6-7 years...so I'm researching and starting now to learn and understand what it's going to take.
Still wrestling with the an important task at hand....losing weight. I still have more to go and I've seem to have stalled in the fight to lose weight. The LOML and I are trying a few things differently to see how it affects our program.
My youngest son is in week 2 of basic training and my hopes and prayers are that he sticks with this and comes out successful on the other side.
I'm still cleaning the shop and trying to make do with things I already have. I've attempted to turn a couple of bowl on my lathe but ever since I had to put my lathe chuck back together, I seem to be blowing bowls. I just can't spring for a new lathe chuck right now but a friend of mine let me borrow his to finish a bowl I'm needing to get done for a friend.
I was oncall last week and I'm also oncall this week. It's tough when you are a team of 3 and one person take leave from work for a week.

Dennis, it's so nice that you're working hard to stay busy. LOL

More of the same for me...working on an architectural CNC commission, finished the shop ceiling, doing a little shop re-arrangement, cut something for another 'Creeker on the CNC, had a table at a local horse barn on Saturday to both sell tack I no longer need and to promote my business, cooked and ate some delicious meals, etc. This week is looking to be similar except for the shop ceiling part. :) I think I have the one minor thing figured out that was holding up cutting the two major pieces of the above-mentioned commission and I can hopefully get them working starting tomorrow or Wednesday...they take 6-7 hours to cut. Each. And there are two. And then it's on to 20 smaller appliqués for the window corner blocks to finish the production. In the mean time, the client dropped off some finish as I said I'd get that started on the appliqués since I have to sit here, anyway, while "StingZilla" is doing her thing. :D

I started redoing the shop on Friday, dont feel like I made much progress even with all the cleaning. The layout I sketched out seems like it will be really functional. I plan on taking the garage door out, I just need to determine how I want the fix to look, and decide if I want 1 door or 2.

Kinda took the weekend off. Son and SO needed to make some decisions before we could continue building their kitchen cabinets. Since there was a break in the action, I fabricated a new router fence to fit a piece of 80/20. I also did some minor rearranging of the shop. Went out with friends for dinner Saturday evening.

I went to my brothers for the weekend and performed PM on his band saw, jointer/planer and cabinet saw.

Also delivered a bunch of pine timbers and had a great visit..........Rod.

Took the family for an overnight visit with my dad this weekend.

Yesterday being a holiday for me, I got my coffee station within sight of the checkered flag. I've got a door to adjust and a few more coats of Waterlox to wipe on the piece.

Dennis, if you think it is bad when one of your team of three is gone, try being a team of one. When I am out, only the emergencies get taken care of. The rest are waiting for the 'team' to get back...

Anyway, I got the hinges sorted out on Tantalus II and three coats of shellac applied. My can of waterbase was bad, otherwise it would have had a coat of that, too. So I picked some of that up last night and should be applied tonight.

Started looking into a couple of other ideas for something to make.

And finally, got the insulation installed in the basement. Ready for some sheetrock.

This weekend I bought the wood for the dresser build I'm about to start. This dresser will be for our baby coming in June and my wife is happy that I will be getting started.
