Working on this desk, the panel clamps really help with the edge joining glue ups.403641403642

Mark,

Nice looking work. Is the build for you or a commision? Oh BTW, you are too neet :D, you should see my shop at this stage of a build.

ken Thanks Ken, I will probably give this to a family member. My shop can get pretty messy too!

Good looking desk. Do your clamps have any camber in the cauls? Is the desk your own design?

Jim James, these are the Veritas panel clamps. They supply the hardware, and I had to make the soft maple wood bars which I drilled out. There is no camber, the pull on the top clamp keeps the panel flat

Nice Pennsylvania wagon in the background. Thanks Warren, a keen eye. That wagon is about 24 years old. It is a "Speedway Express" from Lancaster PA. What a wagon - I have had great use of it over the years. My son broke his femur at 1 year of age, and he had a body cast on. We went shopping for a wagon to pull him around in, and he could not fit him in the standard Toys r Us wagon. We tracked this one down. We lived in Lancaster for many years, and I visited the small factory where it is made. I try to use hand tools as much as I can, and enjoyed using this panel gauge this afternoon.403752

Jim James, I got the plans from Phil Lowe. They were expensive and they are orthographic drawings, so they are a bit confusing and not detailed in certain areas. I am pushing forward however!
