I make do with my regular shop bench and this vise. Just curious what features did you want in your bench?

Phil, My complaint about the search SMC feature in the Tech Forum led to getting it to work better by clipping out the www. in the Google search term. Try this for previous discussions on guitar and instrument benches:

Or paste this into your favorite search page: > guitar bench site:sawmillcreek.org <

I've made 6 guitars, two Strats, two Teles, 1 Ric bass and 1 Martin OM acoustic. The only way I'd dedicate a workbench to building guitars would be if I always had one in the works or if I did a lot of repairs. Evan Gluck is considered one of the best guitar repairmen in the business and here he describes his dedicated workbench, in case you're interested...

I want a slightly smaller bench all mine are about 6'8" long
I am thinking making the top out of 2x4s
have a wagon and/or leg vise
I have one arch top to build and two guitars that need repair
other than that I am open to borrowing other ideas
