Hi Jackie,
I have some freedom pens that my students have made that I would like to donate to you. Please give me the mailing address and I will send them. In the past I bought and shipped the pens to Joe Kelly and I am saddened that he has passed and I will echo that he was a dedicated and major influence in my freedom pen contributions over the past few years.
Thanks

Hi Jackie,
Do you have pen counts for the years prior to 2007? I am trying to assemble a count for our group.

I am sorry I haven't responded sooner. I just saw this message. You can send the pens to Freedom Pens Project, 8770 Little England Road, Hayes, VA 23072.

We really do miss Joe Kelly. He was a passionate supporter of Freedom Pens.

You can send it to me or donate it directly to someone else here. I try my best to make sure that any special materials donated to the Freedom Pens project are used appropriately.

Freedom Pens Project
8770 Little England Rd
Hayes VA, 23072

Pen blanks are usually 3/4" by 3/4" by 5" if they are larger that's fine.
I prefer dried blanks.

Thanks Jim

Do you have a source for the red white and blue corian. We Hunt County Woodturners still like to use the RWB center bands

Dan

We used to have a source for red, white and blue corian but that was many years ago.

Jackie our club is interested in the project and the committee would like to know what bushings and drill size is. From what I see is a slimline pen?

Gerald

We get the funline kits. They use 7mm drill bit and bushings.

Jackie:

I am "new again" to this thread, but was browsing and found the following in a very early post.

***** begin quote *****
I have drafted a brief note to include with each pen I donate. I think a personal touch would be important to the recipient. I think everyone should consider enclosing a note albeit brief.

You can see a draft of my intented note here
MORE TO COME AS TIME PASSES
***** end quote *****

I could not figure out who wrote it and the link to the "intended note" took me into some unknown space.

I have been turning PENS FOR THE TROOPS for the last 3 years, working with my local WOODCRAFT store and with support from the members of Silicon Valley Woodturners [SVW] have donated over 600 pens over that time.

I have written a note which I include with each of my pens, and have encouraged the others in SWV to do the same. I would be glad to share my note with you and others if there is any interest.

Please let me know.

P.S. No longer in Sumner, WA --- Now in San Jose, CA
