Anyone familiar with Kem Aqua or Target Coating EM7000?

EM7000 is a high-build clear coat product. I have not used it, but have used quite a bit of the EM6000 which has been around longer. I've also used the EM8000cv...it's actually what I clear coated my recently replaced kitchen upper cabinets after color coats of EM6500 tinted to a BM color.

I did try the Kem Aqua water borne clear product (local SW store had to bring it in as they don't stock the water borne version) and while it looked like an interesting alternative, I had a lot of trouble getting it to lay down and level out. GF Extended helped with that when I later learned about it and played a little, but by that time the "bus had left the station" and I replaced it with the EM8000cv.

I have used just about every product Target Coatings makes, except perhaps the 7000 and shellac.

I use 8000 exclusively for clear coating cabinet interiors, as well as the clear coat over "distressed" pieces.

The 6000 is good stuff, too. I'll use it when I need absolute crystal clear on something.

The EM7000 appears to be very similar to the EM6000, but is mentioned as "high build".

Used both, Kem Aqua is thicker base than target but better build. You might need at least a 4 stage system to agonize. My 2 stage could atomize target but not much thicker. My sw store brings in Kem Aqua for me so it’s on hand about 2 blocks away and no shipping. Couldn’t be happier about durabiliyeither. It goes on thick, levels out nicely, dried in 30
for sanding and recoat.

+1 on Mikes comment with regard to Kem Aqua, atomized properly it will lay down nicely, sands easy and quick, I've also had no problems with durability and have used it in multiple cabinet / interior millwork applications

So are we talking about paint or clearcoat?
