There is a local ad for a used Hegner Multimax 18 at what seems to be a very good price ($350) with a stand, a light and a bunch of blades. Is this a good deal if it checks out? I have an appointment to see it when the seller returns from work.

hegner is good stuff and if the saw is in good shape i think that`s a fair price. i have the smallest one they make and gave more than that several years ago. .02 tod

If it's in good shape, grab it! It's actually less than half the price of a new one.

We have 8 or so where I work. They are used 7 hours a day about 140-150 days a year. They keep going without a problem.

I offered him $300 and he accepted. It is an older model but it has hundreds of blades, an enclosed stand, a cover and a lighted magnifying lamp. There is also a box of spare parts. There is a little rust on the stand but it should clean up easily. Pictures will follow to appease the pic police.

Congrats! I recently bought a new Hegner for my daughter. It's a very good saw.
