Hi,

I am trying to figure Manufacturer Parameters on my ruida 6442 controller and more specific cover opening protection /now the switch is connected in series with emergency stop and shuts down the whole machine/ and enable blower /I want to install solenoid valve and get air assist working only when cutting/.

I checked the port for the blower with voltmeter but it supplies 24V no matter what

Any help will be appreciated

thanks

Search the archives at rdworkslab.com or watch Russ' video about this on Youtube (Sarbar Media).

Maybe this will help you:

About wiring protection and how to check them: at ~9 minute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXy654KknzE
About wiring air blow assist: at ~14 minute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLtXHDDMkKE NOTE: electric valves usually are NOT working with low pressure, so if you use only aquarium pump as blower it can be too weak to work.

I dont remember if I ever check voltage on ports, but output was working for me with just LED and 1k resistor (if I good remember). IMO they should work with SSR relays, current should be in proper range.

I just put a solenoid on ours to be able to control the air assist. I used this valve: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4-Inch-Electric-Air-Water-Fast-Response-Solenoid-Valve-Normally-Closed-24V-DC/121123182232?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

24 volt DC air solenoid. Wired up to the "Wind" port on the Ruida controller. Works great.

If you search youtube, there are a lot of other videos about this in addition to Russ' videos. Here is another one that is nicely to the point:

Thank you all for your answers.

In the manual is very clear hot it has to bi wired but not much info how to get in the menu for activating air assist and door protection switch.

I am on MAC and using lightburn but was not able to find where this setting are both on the machine's panel or in the lightburn. I installed parallels in order to be able to run RDWorks which has the settings readily available for edit and configured everything how I need it and now the port for air assist outputs the correct signal /24v/ when air assist is checked for the layer being cut. I will have the solenoid tomorrow and install it on Thursday. For air supply I am going to use small 7 gal shop compressor which I used for powder coating in the past so the aquarium pump goes away.
