Delta DC380 knife changing issue.

Trying to change blades on DC380 I recently picked up using Planer Pal magnetic planer knife setting jig I purchased. The jig will not work as it span is too wide to allow jigs to get down to cutterhead, (see pic). Wondering if there is another narrower jig that would work on DC380? What do others use?

Remove the three leaf springs on the chip breaker, then the Planer Pal will fit.

Jeff I have the same planer and use the gauge that came with it. I would like to get the magnetic ones like you have.

Cutterhead has a lot of pitch on it and also want to clean grooves blade sit in. Any recommendations on what to use? Mineral spirits did nothing. Acetone is removing some but not all.

The Kindt Collins company sells. (Or used to) a "pitch solvent". Just a mixture of common solvents,but works well.
Works best when allowed to dry before you start cleaning.
