I have a 16" Dewalt radial arm saw. I can not find a replacement switch for the end of the arm. Where would you mount the push button start/stop station. on top of the arm, under the table, on the back of the table behind the fence which is how it came. This switch is the older round button one in a cast iron housing.

Good question for the guys over at owwm.org. perhaps removing the existing nose and fabricating an adapter to mount the new switch to the end of the arm. That's really the best place.

There are enough Dewalts around, even the bigger ones like yours, that you should be able to find a replacement stock switch. Check OWWM and EBay.

I have several laying around.

If you have the end piece and the current push buttons are bad (never seen any go bad, you can easily find those from Ebay, another starter, etc)

You can look up your model # over at vintagemachinery.org (http://vintagemachinery.org) and compare pictures/check manual or post on their sister site owwm.org as already suggested. You could also try the dewalt ras forum (https://forums.delphiforums.com/woodbutcher). I think Original Saw Company (http://originalsaw.com) can also sometimes help with replacement parts on some of the bigger dewalts.

How broken is the switch? I've taken a lot of switches apart and repaired most. Sometimes there are broken internal parts but often the fix is simple.

Don't have a RAS but love the foot switch on my table saw.

If i were to change the design, I would place the switch either on the handle so that I could easily toggle it on and off while operating the saw, or I'd go the foot switch route recommended by Tom.

Darcy, if you have some switches I would like to talk to you. I need one for a 1947 GE.
