One of my neighbors loaded several pieces of 8 ft plywood on a 6 ft trailer, leaving the two feet hanging over the front side, a wooden piece about a foot high. He was hauling it behind his buick and went down a steep hill. His sun roof was popped open. Well at the steepest part of the hill a deer ran out in front of him and he slammed on the brakes. Pieces of plywood flew forward into the back of his car, up and over. the one caught on his sun roof and completely tore it off. Two pieces ended up laying on the road in front of him. About then is when I came along the opposite direction. I helped pick up the plywood and lent him a tie down strap long enough to go lengthwise and hold the load on the trailer. I haven't seen the incident recreated on a TV commercial, so he must not have had Farmers' Insurance.
