Hi,
I have a New Hermes 3400 and need to replace the spindle belt (O Ring).
Does any one have any guidance on this procedure. I have received the replacement belt from Q1.
Thanks

The spindle resides in a carrier that rides up and down 2 SS rods, the left rod is almost directly behind the spindle. Where the rod goes into the main carrier housing, towards the top you'll notice an allen screw in the housing, this holds the rod in place. There's another screw at the bottom, behind the spindle, so you need to remove the spindle from the carrier to access it. Loosen both screws and back them out quite a ways, just not all the way out. Directly above the rod is a hole in the housing, just large enough for a cutter tool or small screwdriver to fit-- Now, with a small hammer and your tool or screwdriver, just tap the rod downwards until it's out of housing enough to get the belt past. Fit the belt in, the tap the rod back up into place from below and tighten the set screws. Run the belt under the black 'drive wheel' or whatever it's called, put the spindle back in place then put the belt on. :)

Installing that belt Always reminded me a little of what Rube Goldberg's mind must be like:
