I built a Stickley style bed a while back. This piece is for the bedroom also and is designed to match the bed. My first time with dovetailed drawers. I used a dovetail jig. This thing is huge and heavy.

Beautiful. That finish makes the grain pop.

Beautiful Marty. Can't have too many Stickley or Limbert pieces. Love the finish - what did you use / do?

Thanks All. Bill, I used the same finish as the "Stickley Bed" project I posted a few months ago. I laid the finish schedule out there but would be more than happy to discuss further. P.M. Me, I love talking about Craftsman stuff with a fellow fan.

Love this. Where did you find the hardware? I will be making a similar styled dresser in the future and really like this piece. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice. There are a few Stickley designs on my list as well. Nice work.

Well done. I'm a Stickley nut and an Arts and Crafts fan in general. Most of my furnishings are Quartersawn White Oak. Your piece would fit right in.

Thanks for the compliments. I never realized how many people are into the craftsman style like myself.

The hardware came from Horton Brasses. I went with the H hinges but now I think butt hinges would have been a better choice. I also wish I would have matched grain better on all 4 drawers.

In case anybody's interested. I built this in sub assemblies so I could get it upstairs without hiring movers. The outer shell, inner web framing, top, doors and drawers all carried upstairs separately and assembled in place. All pre-finished of course.

She's very heavy. I tend do do this on all my projects. I buy my lumber in 5/4. My problem is, I can't bring my self to keep running the boards through the planer after they are flat. I usually mill all the lumber at once. I stop planing when the worst board is flat. A lot of times it's between 7/8 and 1" thick. 3/4" or less would work just fine and be much lighter, I just can't turn that high dollar lumber into chips. Fortunately this style furniture looks good on the beefy side.

Here's a couple pics to help explain the sub-assemblies, maybe.

Craftsman style is very popular with folks, both in it's pure form and in how some makers have mixed it with Shaker, such as Thomas Moser. Your bed is very nice!

I had to look up Thomas Moser. I like the "fusion" of the two styles. I wish I could build a chair and sell it for $4,000.

A beautiful piece, with very imaginative 'modular' approach.

I too am Stickley / Arts&Crafts / Thomas Moser fan, and just started a Stickley-inspired bar back.

Someday, I want to try the T.Moser Wing Chair (https://www.thosmoser.com/product/wing-chair/). Someday.

Marty, Thos Moser and George Nakashima are my two "woodworking idols". Moser has an excellent book that includes plans/drawings for a number of his classic pieces. George's book, Soul of a Tree, really affected how I approach things, too. Now, for oodles of Craftsman projects, Bob Lang has the tome you want to peruse...

Bob Lang taught me how to build furniture, he just doesn't know it :). I have "shop drawings for craftsman furniture" and some others. I also purchased a few of his plans. I'm gonna look into the books referenced by Jim.
