I recently acquired an vintage GP wood level--that is out of level. See no screws except those to remove brass plate. The interior vial is in good shape and sticker, although almost not legible, says "adjustable". Can anyone tell me how to put back to level??

Thanks
Chris Kenney

The one catalog I found refers to a "double Movable Bar Adjustment," but provides no details: http://www.blackburntools.com/articles/rose-tools-catalog-archives/pdfs/goodell-pratt-no-16.pdf

Goodell-Pratt was purchased by Millers Falls in the early 20th century, and the name was continued, eventually as a "second line" for M-F; you might also look at Millers Falls catalogs. One possible source below:

pg 343 of the catalog Bill linked to, has a procedure titled "Adjusting Goodell-Pratt levels."

Don't want to sidetrack thread however, thanks Bill for posting that link to Goodell-Pratt catalog
I scrolled all the way through that thing and even made a quick sketch or two of tools previously unseen by me.

I have to be really careful with those old catalogs, not to find new things to lust after. I comfort myself that, if I do find one of the new lust list items in the wild, I'll know what it is.
