Completed another HF, this is fun.:) Got his piece of Box Elder from Jim Ketron at the BBQ. The shape was OK until I decided to save the inclusion that was in the top of it and now I think the top is a bit to big. The more I look at it, the more I am starting to like it but.

It does have a little bit of curl in it.:D Finished up at 9-1/2" X 4-1/2" and is 1/8" thick. It is sanded to 600 grit and only buffed with the beall system.

Comments welcome, thanks for looking.

Hi Dick,
Very unique design and shape, and a nice warm finish. If I may, what are the black lines below the top??
Thanks for showing,
Bill.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>:)

The black lines sorta look like the rope burns that folks put on their pens sometimes. I like the idea. That wood just sparkles Dick. Nice looking!:)

Good one, Dick! Very nice piece of wood, and like what you did with it.

Thanks for the pics!

I like the wood. It has nice curl in it. The form just looks so unbalanced with the large rim on top. If you hold a piece of paper up to the picture and cover that rim, it looks much better. Just looks top heavy.
