A customer wanted some chroma plates for a wedding. Did anyone hear of this material? I googled and all I can find is that chroma is an acrylic paint. So I am thinking it's acrylic painted with a chroma paint.

My googling found chroma license plates, which seem to be 'plasti-chrome' stuff-

However, "Chroma" is a brand name of wood plates and platters, much easier to engrave I'll bet! ;)

Called a company that sells the plates. She said: "All of our products are made in the US from acrylic with a Chroma overlay. The Chroma has been specially engineered to be scratch and fingerprint resistant. Additionally, our products are reversible with brass on one side and platinum on the reverse"
