Looks like it has two cone drive setups to vary speed. I am surprised to see an electric! motor.
No relation to seller etc.

Very clever. Inverted cones with an inter-drive. Thanks for sharing. OWWM has a listing for the same machine type under Knecht Brothers (http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=32402) and they call it a "sensitive drill."

Wonder what it sound like running. I imagine a toy train track that would be very pleasant.

The motor mount looks homemade to me. I bet it was line shaft drive from the factory.

It's an interesting design. I can't imagine it having very much torque.

Cool, yet terrifying at the same time. The electric motor is a later add on. The wide pulley on top is for a leather belt. The cast part of the yoke that the motor is mounted on probably had some kind of idler/drive pulley set up to turn the drill on and off, and change to a vertical wheel to take a belt from the line shaft on the ceiling.
