Kreg Jig Pocket Holes

All,

I want to join some 1/2 inch Baltic Birch to 3/4 inch face frames. I used the mini jig set up at 1/2 inch and the 1 inch Kreg screw splits out my face frame. Any suggestions where I may of gone wrong? And what may mr remedy be?

I have used that same setup with success. Is the face frame 3/4" stock about 2" to 2-1/2" wide? where is the splits? Could you post a pic?
