When I build a project requiring hinges, I'm never sure how to choose the right one for the project. This time, on an armoire with full-sized doors, I'm also wondering about strength, so I'm looking for recommendations. Doors are arts and crafts style frame and panel, about 6ft. high and 18'' wide.
I'm assuming 3 pair, but don't know how heavy or the appropriate dimensions.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Last armoire I did was 7' tall and each door was 23" wide. A real beast. I ended up going with Soss invisible hinges for the strength and the hidden look. My view on hardware is simple. Buy the best quality available. Not just what you can afford. I've never had to go back to a customer and fix a hinge. Brusso, and Ball & Ball make excellent hardware. As far as the size of the hinge you need, that is dependent upon how much each door weighs. If it's solid wood then you'll need more meaty hinges. If it's thiner plywood then you can scale down a little. You may need to go with 4 hinges depending on the size of your frames. Hope this helps. Just my $.02
