Hi All,

Does anyone know of a glue or tape that leaves no residue. I am trying to stick clear acrylic to a printed paper backing so that you cannot see the glue at all once the two pieces at stuck together. Similar to the effect created on the attached image.

Thanks

394710 I don't know of any tape that ends up totally transparent, but this does!
I love this stuff- it smells and acts like runny silicone, about the consistency of pancake syrup. It will leave no bubbles, and any overflow can be removed easily...

Here is one recommended by Gary and Steve. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-Optically-Clear-Adhesive-821X/?N=5002385+3294001460&rt=rud

I'd just UV print the artwork onto the back of the acrylic, first mirroring the art so it looks correct when viewed through the acrylic, and printing color then white.

Hello Jit,

is you piece of print laminated at all? The only issue I see is that glue will wet the print and posibly leave mark. You could try one of the many Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive (LOCA) UV glues available. I used them for gluing acrylic boxes etc they set nearly instantly once light is applied. They do create a bit of heat as well. Otherwise see if you can get them UV printed as Glen mentioned, it's not too expensive.

ah yes-- this stuff works well, activated by sunlight, I use it to glue glass & plex trophies together--

work with it indoors, when you're ready move the parts outside into sunlight-

Thanks for the replies all.

The small tubes of glue won't work for us due to cost - we make multiples in the 10's 100's and 1000's so this wouldn't be commercially viable.

Darren/Glen, we already UV print onto acrylic as are happy with the results but they do not compare to photo quality print hence why we are exploring attaching a print to the clear acrylic.

Going to give this stuff a try as it may work - https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-Optically-Clear-Adhesive-8146-X/?N=5002385+3294001476&rt=rud

Either a Mimaki JV34, AGFA Anapurna H2500i or AGFA Jeti 1224

Hi Jit,

You can try using a facemount paper sold by Drytac (item # PSF25150).
