I have a cast iron TS (very heavy) the motor is 1 hp and when I try to tilt blade it is hard to crank up. I know its probably because of belt and motor but the motor is fairly new and doesn't weigh much compared to old. Is there anyway to make it crank the tilt any easier? Thanks Dave

Clean and lube the lead screw. Contractor saws tend to get neglected under the hood. Spoil can stick to lubricants and form an almost petrified gum in the threads or along the shaft. I use mineral spirits in a spray botle and a wire brush (toothbrush size). Then spray with a teflon lube or (my new favorite) CRC 3-36.
