Dbl bearing Spiral flushtrim

I have been having MAD tearout using my 2 flute flushtrim bit (yep nice and sharp, just had it honed about a week ago) on this curly maple and the chipout / tearout has been AWFUL, so I brought a spiral downcut flush trim bit from whiteside and WOW what a difference, the shearing of this made EXTREMELY smooth chipout/tearout free flush trimming. Well worth the 89.00 for the 1/2 shank one.

Keith I bought one last year to cut some chair back posts. The cut went with and against the grain. Every cut was great.

Sounds like the sheering had all of to do with the excellent cutting ability.
