Proofs for laser engraving

Any suggestions for creating proofs for laser engraving ?
I have used vcarve to do this in the past but it’s slow, cumbersome, and doesn’t always render an image that captures small details.

I design in CorelDraw and export a pdf or a jpg. Sometimes hairlines will need to be beefed up a bit in a jpg but a pdf shows all details perfectly.

I agree with Gary, using the save as PDF option in Corel is the best way to get proofs out of your production system. I even made a page template with the date, job and contact info that I drop the artwork into. Makes getting approval that much easier.
