Hello Creekers
A customer brought in a black Yeti colster and wants a logo lasered on it, I've never done the black ones and I'm not sure if they
are laserable. I know there are some on here that have done many Yeti items so I was wondering if you could tell me if they are
laserable and what settings should I use.
I have a Speedy 300 80 watt
Thanks in advance for any help.

I use 100P, 50S and 333dpi, one pass on my Trotec 80 watt. I clean with a rag and Zep Fast 505. Some colors take 2 passes but the black and medium blue are one pass.

I highly recommend using magic erasers to clean the surface after the fact, regardless of speed and power settings. FWIW, search "melamine sponge" on amazon etc., much cheaper.

For stubborn residues I use denatured alcohol to wet the sponge instead of water.

Simple Green. Way safer to use than the Zep, (won't hurt any surface metal I've used it on) Concentrated gallon is like $7.50 at Sam's.
I spray on concentrated, rub with my fingers (or magic eraser if one is laying there) and wash off. No scrubbing, nothing but bare metal left. Won't harm PC.
Did some blacks the other day and easy. DNA will take off, but not nearly as fast nor safely.

Zep Fast 505 has never harmed any paint or metal surface I've used it on. I use it on all my powder coated work.

Just make sure to wash it after cleaning. From what I read, 505 contains a bit of lye...

Hi Mike
Thanks for sharing your settings.
What is the Zep 505, I've never heard of it here in Canada. I use magic Eraser and Goo Gone (citrus based) on plastics.

Thank you Everyone that took time to give me your input, I appreciate it very much.
If it wasn't for this forum and a few others, I would be lost.
