Just a little project I did to help clean up the clutter in my shop. I wanted something to hold lumber and long clamps, that took up a minimum of space.

The bottom is 3/4 ply with wheels. The main frame is 2x4s sandwiched between a couple of 2x6s at the base. 1/4 ply is nailed to the sides and back to help stabilize the frame. I also used 1/4 ply to create bins for scrap wood. The shelving is metal standards & brackets, so height can be adjusted. The back of the rack is mainly for storing plywood.

Mobile storage. Great idea. Does it get tippy if you have a lot of sheet goods on it?

I built a sheet goods rack last year that I should post one of these days....

Great job on the rack, John! Certainly appears to give you real easy access to all that is needed and portable, to boot! Well done.:) :D

Nice rack John and mobile to boot. I wish I had room for something like that.

Now that is Cool!!!! Inventive space saver. I wish I'd thought of incorporating that before I screwed mine to the wall. I used the same type of standards you did and they'll work well.

Really nice job.... John.

John, the unit looks both well designed and well built. I bet you wonder how you ever got along without it.

Neil - If I keep the weight balanced between both sides, and am careful when moving the rack, I have no problems at all.

Well done, John. That looks like an idea I may just have to borrow. Yours came out great, and something like that would sure be handy in my shop.
