I am building a large router table. I will have a fold down door that will stay open at 90 degrees to serve as a tray when desired. This door is 24x13. I plan on attaching it to the cabinet with piano hinge and I am looking at the Sugatsune flap support (Rockler 82553) to hold this door open at 90 degrees similar to a drop front desk. Anyone have a better idea?

I just used brass plated chain when I did this one, though I think it's only 15" or so wide. Having those as a temporary shelf, with access from either side has been great--and they stay clear from "stuff" since they get closed. Rare earth magnets as closures against 3/4" angle brackets. Later added some vents for make-up air on the router box side.
