Looking to purchase a new Jet 1640EVS lathe and have been checking online and local stores that carry Jet. It looks as if Jet is controlling the price as everyone has it at $2650. Does Jet have a sale or where could I check for a better price?
Thanks,

Seems like once or twice a year Woodcraft had Jet tools listed as either 10 or 15% off. If you can wait you might save some $

If you're not absolutely set on the Jet, you can currently get a Laguna Revo 1836 for $2,160 - $2,250, depending on whether it's the 1.5hp or 2hp. If the 36" bed is too short for your needs, you can get the 12" swing away extension for $300. Now you're at $2,460 for the 1.5hp (plus $75 for shipping). The link below will take you to the site.

Having owned the former model - Jet 1642-2 and now the Laguna 1836 with the 20” bed extension - the choice would be an easy one for me. Laguna hands down.

Jet does have 10% off sales pretty often and once in a while a 15% off sale at many of the Jet dealers. The sales often include free shipping as well. I have the 1640EVS, and think very highly of it.
