Often enough I find myself grinding the tip off small screws. Holding them is a challenge. No matter how they are gripped in pliers or vise grips the vibration pops them loose so it's a case of holding them in finger tips. Today's screws were quite small. It went well enough but the effort made me post the question here. Any suggestions?

Nip off the tip with a pair of wire cutters.

Screw them in a thin board so that tip projects the amount to remove and then use grinder or Dremel tool with cur off wheel to cut off tips.

Screw threw a scrap of wood with the amount of tip you want to remove and file it flush. I use small screws on my boxes the real challenge for me is finding the right screw driver. One that doesn’t goof up the nice brass look.

Wood screws or machine screws?

I use a small bolt cutter (https://www.amazon.com/71-32-200-Comfort-Leverage/dp/B005EXO8LK?ref=ast_p_ep) to trim the ends.
