Firefox wouldn't connect unless I did the 'exemption' thing-- which I did ;)

Same happened to me. First with Safari, then with Chrome. Firefox was the easiest to get to log in.

It has been reported and I'm sure it is being worked on. I would suggest only allowing a temporary exception not a permanent one.

The problem is the Aaron and I both paid to renew our certificate and someone at Spirit Domains got confused. Aaron is working on this to try and get it resolved ASAP.

Have you looked into using something like Let's Encrypt? It's the go to free certification authority, and open source, which is nice. Set it up, make a cron job to auto-renew it, and forget about it. Might help to save some money and downtime.

Safari have me no option to get passed it. I think this happenes every year or so.
