Stanley 12 1/2 new sole

Has anyone here made a new sole for a 12 1/2 before? If so how did you do it? I'm thinking make a 45 deg. jig, dill holes across & clean up with a chisel. Any other ideas?

It didn't occur to me the mouth - sole is beveled on the #12-1/2. The #12-3/4 has two pieces with bevels that would be simple to do with a saw.
