My daughter had me sand down 1100 sq ft of maple floor. The floor was covered with carpet that was completely glued down with a sort of contact cement. i purchased this disc

This disc is amazing. It took the glue varnish and color off down to white maple. I had to sand with a 36 grit on a bit of an angle to get the scratches out that the disc caused but straight forward from there. There is no way sandpaper would have done the job with all that glue.
Now on to my question. Has anyone ever used this product to help eliminated the blotching that occurs when staining maple

I know that probably the best way to finish is to just apply poly and let it amber up. But my daughter wants it darkened up
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Thank you
Al

Are you going to stain it with the same buffer you used the disk on?

Sorry, never used that product, or stained a Maple floor.

I haven't used it yet but I bought Charlie Neil's Pre-Color conditioner. It was recommended by Stumpy Nubs.
